Horseback riding is a physical activity and requires skill and practice!
We can recommend facilities to get lessons or come to your barn to give instruction in mounted games or combat.
There are many ways to be active in the equestrian community other than riding!

Equestrian activities in the SCA are not just limited to adults or mounted riders! Children 10 or older can play as well (with a parent in attendance).
Most of the games can be played from a horse-drawn cart!
When around horses at SCA events, we recommend the following:
Wear sturdy shoes with at least a 1/2" heel and good toe protection. No sandals!!
Ask to pet a horse and approach quietly.
Wear comfortable, close fitting pants. Leggings or sweat pants work well in a pinch.
Expect to get dirty and dusty.
